It’s not every day that we get the chance to work on the ultimate global brand. Santa Claus, the world’s most recognisable figure, has been a symbol of Christmas cheer for centuries. But even icons need a refresh now and then. This year, we took on the ambitious project of helping Santa stay relevant in the ever-changing cultural landscape.
It was a chilly December morning, and the team at Kall Kwik was settling in, ready for another busy day. The printers were humming, hot coffee was in hand, and the mood was festive. Then, the door opened, and in walked… Santa Claus. Yes, the Santa Claus—red suit, fluffy beard, and a smile that could light up the entire office.
We all blinked, unsure if we were seeing things. Was this a prank? A Santa-gram gone wrong? But the twinkle in his eye and the unmistakable deep voice confirmed it—this was the real deal. Santa walked up to our front desk and said, “I’ve heard Kall Kwik is the best at making things fresh and modern, and I need your help.”
“I’ve been around a long time,” Santa began. “And I feel like I need a refresh. The kids today are all about trends and modern style. Maybe it’s time I updated my look to stay relevant.”
The team exchanged glances. Rebrand Santa? This was going to be… interesting.
We grabbed our notebooks and started brainstorming. Should Santa swap his fluffy red suit for something sleeker? Maybe a fitted jacket in midnight blue? What about a new logo—something sharp and minimalist? We even toyed with the idea of turning his reindeer into electric-powered drones for a futuristic twist.
But as the ideas started flowing, something felt off.
We paused. Here we were, sketching a “new and improved” Santa holding a smartphone instead of his iconic list, and something just wasn’t right. Santa isn’t just any brand; he’s the symbol of Christmas. He’s tradition. He’s magic. He’s the warmth and wonder that everyone looks forward to each year. Did he really need a rebrand?
He sighed, his rosy cheeks dimming. “I just want to keep up with the times. To show the world that I’m still relevant, that I can keep pace with all the exciting things happening today. I’m not as young as I used to be, and it’s tiring to race around the world in one night.”
And that’s when it hit us. Santa didn’t need a rebrand—he needed reassurance. He needed to be reminded that the world didn’t want him to change. People of all ages love Santa for who he is: the twinkling eyes, the hearty laugh, the timeless red suit, and the joy he brings every year.
With smiles all around, we turned back to Santa. “Santa, you don’t need a rebrand. You’re perfect just the way you are. The world loves you for being you. You bring tradition and magic that can’t be modernised, and that’s what makes you special.”
Santa’s eyes twinkled, and his jolly laugh echoed through the room. “Ho ho ho! You’re right. Sometimes, even I forget that staying true to myself is what really matters.”
We printed custom gift tags with each child’s name, designed certificates for children on the Nice List, and produced Elf Management Handbooks to streamline the workshop. We even created a beautifully illustrated book telling Santa’s story—his history, adventures, and the magic he brings.
Santa left Kall Kwik that day with a spring in his step, grateful for the reminder that he didn’t need to change to be loved. He just needed to be himself.
And us? We learned an important lesson too. Sometimes, the best way to help a brand isn’t to change it—it’s to embrace its essence and let it shine. Santa will always be the heart of Christmas, and no modern twist could ever replace that timeless charm.
So, here’s to the magic that doesn’t need rebranding. Merry Christmas from all of us at Kall Kwik Bury St Edmunds!
